Synopsis
Fury Road is a 2015 Australian post-apocalyptic action film co-written, co-produced, and directed by George Miller. It is the fourth installment in the Mad Max franchise and stars Tom Hardy as the title character. The film follows Max Rockatansky as he teams up with Furiosa, a woman who is trying to escape the tyrannical Immortan Joe, to rescue a group of women who have been kidnapped by Joe.
Characters
In addition to Hardy, the film stars Charlize Theron as Furiosa, Nicholas Hoult as Nux, and Hugh Keays-Byrne as Immortan Joe. Furiosa is a central protagonist alongside the title character and is a strong, independent woman who is not afraid to stand up for what she believes in. Nux is a young War Boy who is initially loyal to Immortan Joe but eventually comes to see the error of his ways. Immortan Joe is a ruthless dictator who rules over the Citadel and is determined to keep his grip on power.
